IF YOU WANT OUR VOTE, MAKE MSP HAPPEN
This is the simple message to the aspiring candidates in the General Election. We need to see action in the next 12 months to make significant progress on the redevelopment of Martin Savage Park (MSP).
When we started, many of our kids were still in the juvenile ranks, now they are 6 years older!! We cannot afford more delays. As a Club, we continue to drive around multiple locations across Dublin and further afield looking for pitches to train and to prepare our teams for big championship games. We need to make proper use of the facilities at the centre of our community.
Our community has seen huge growth in population with further large-scale development now in construction in Rathborne. We want proper facilities to serve the needs of the young people in our local community.
What can you do?
When canvassers come knocking on your door looking for your Number 1, tell them that this issue is non-negotiable. Now is the time for action!! We are asking that candidates make this their number 1 topic in the area and want to know what they will do to get this project delivered? It is of vital importance that this project makes significant progress in 2025 to commence the project and break ground.
What we are looking for
The MSP development as set out in the Part 8 application by Dublin City Council in December 2023 included the following:
- The development of a shared floodlit 130m x 70m all-weather pitch
- The flood lighting of the main GAA pitch
- The creation of a play zone with swings, slides and climbing equipment within a nature based fenced off location.
- The creation of a community garden with mixed planting, paths, and seating
- The addition of Bicycle Parking within the park
- Additional tarmac pavements to create a perimeter path, widening of existing path with public lighting
How you can show your support
You can show your support in a number of ways:
- Put up a window sticker beside your front door with the simple message ‘MSP, MAKE IT HAPPEN’ (available in the Clubhouse later).
- We have larger election poster size posters for your front garden to show your support (contact Ronan to arrange).
- Come down to the Clubhouse and take a photo in front of our large banner and post it on social media tagging the Club.
- For social media messages, use the hashtag, #MSPMakeItHappen
Let’s see meaningful progress in the next 12 months. Let’s hold our local politicians to account. Actions now speak louder than words!! Please show your support for this much-needed project.
